Midori's philosophy: "Either you are training the horse, or the horse is training you." This applies to any time you are handling or riding your horse. When the horse is "training" you, it is almost always because the horse senses that you lack confidence and leadership, so he naturally takes over that role. The horse then proceeds to do things on his terms, ignoring yours, and things usually proceed from "not good" to worse.

She believes that you should be an integral part of training or re-training your horse so you can learn how to always enhance your horses' training, and minimize the amount of "training" the horse does to you! She strives to include you in as many training sessions as you can be a part of, and teach you exactly what she does, so you can handle your horse with confidence and leadership, a role that your horse respects, and actually desires.

She can start young horses, work on problems such as trailer loading, spookiness, horses that "cannot be separated", horses that rush, improper head carriage, etc. In general, her specialty is helping a horse to be quiet and responsive, in both the arena and on the trail.

The ideal training situation is to board your horse at our facility, and for you to be a part of the training process. Every attempt will be made to schedule training sessions at times when you can be present, and participate when appropriate.

Cost for board is $250/mo. (Boarding is ONLY offered to horses in training) Each in house training session is $45/hour, and you must commit to a minimum of twice weekly sessions. (More may be recommended, depending on your horse and what is needed) . If you trailer your horse in for training, or if Midori travels to you, the rate is $55/hour. Extra fees will apply for her travel depending on distance.

All boarding is in a "pasture" setting with at least one other horse buddy. Horses are fed premium quality grass hay twice daily, and given a mid-day snack of veterinarian recommended "Safe Choice"(a pelleted feed) mixed with a complete vitamin and mineral supplement designed for horses on a grass hay diet. All horses have access to mineral salt licks, and of course, fresh water.

Our facilities include a large outdoor arena, and seperate 60 ft. diameter round pen.

Please call Midori at (707) 479-8031 to discuss your needs, and check on availability.
